Galloway Engines

In 1973, Laurie moved to Geraldton to set up an engine reconditioning branch for Repco. He remained in Geraldton as the appointed manager of the branch until 1975, when he moved back to Perth to engage in various branch management positions. After successfully setting up and operating engine reconditioning divisions within Repco Australia, Laurie took the plunge and left Repco in 1976 to embark on the mission of starting his own engine reconditioning business, firstly setting up in his home town of Dwellingup, whilst planning and building was undertaken at a new premises in Pinjarra. Building of the current factory was completed and opened in October 1978 and the building has undergone expansion over the years to accommodate the continual upgrade of equipment.

Laurie's son David, after growing up with a keen interest in the engine reconditioning industry, completed an Apprenticeship as a Specialised Fitter and Machinist in the mining industry. He joined the Galloway team in 2004, starting initially as the Workshop Manager and taking over as General Manager in 2014 after Laurie retired to pursue other projects including farming interests and a small car collection.

Galloway Engines has grown over the years to offer engine solutions to a broad range of fields including the Performance and Racing circuit, Classic and Vintage enthusiasts, the Industrial, Agricultural and Mining industries and the Original Equipment and Light Diesel market, servicing customers all over Western Australia.

A passion for the automotive and engine reconditioning industry runs within the Galloway family and the extended workshop family, which is testament to our long standing success within the industry.
